Louise joins The Smarty Train with over 25 years’ experience in organisation transformation, strategy and employee development. She works with clients operating against a backdrop of technological, digital and economic change and enjoys helping them support and develop their teams.

With an MSc in organisational psychology, Louise has extensive experience in developing and implementing complex programmes within the public and not-for-profit sectors. She worked at Accenture for 17 years, 12 of which were spent as a Managing Director, where she partnered with a range of public sector clients including the Metropolitan Police, HMRC, West Midlands Fire Service, UK Visas & Immigration and the Ministry of Justice.

She started her career at a Lloyds Broker working in the HR department, back when HR was called Personnel and women weren’t allowed to wear trousers in the office! After taking a year off to backpack round the world, Louise moved to a theatre and cinema complex where she did everything from writing press releases and working on the Stage Door to selling ice-creams. Her career then took her to the Design Council where she developed their first website and also ran a project to redesign Parliament for the 21st Century where a suggestion that MPs work virtually was dismissed as “unworkable”.

Louise is a huge advocate of work (life) balance and takes a sabbatical at least every 7 years to travel, study or just have fun. Her latest adventure was in the Canary Islands learning Spanish and taking courses in Life Drawing, Creative Writing and hand-making chocolates. Although she says you really can’t beat Galaxy.

Strange but true…

Louise is passionate about theatre and film and can find a movie reference for any situation. But her own acting career was swiftly ended by a single busking appearance at Covent Garden. She is pretty confident she has managed to track down every photo of the event ...
