The Smarts: Big Little Hacks to Take You a Long Way at Work

Did you hear the news? We wrote a book. It got endorsed by Harvard and, well, we’re very proud of it.

Our book, The Smarts: Big Little Hacks to Take You a Long Way at Work (Penguin, 2019), is due to hit the shelves on the 10th January 2019. Want to know more?

[PS: Hope you like the gold foil strobes bursting out of the front cover]

The book explores how you can hack work, be the best you and unlock your talent. Don’t expect a list of dry, pointless mantras about ‘working hard’ and ‘being punctual’ either. Discover why it’s best to have a difficult conversation with your boss after lunch, what to do when you’re stuck for something to say, and why giants drink coffee.

It’s been quite the project for us.  Thank you to everyone who’s helped and contributed. Here’s what some people had to say:

“Fresh and essential for performing in today’s frenetic working world”  (Heidi K. Gardner, Harvard)

“Words of wisdom from a master practitioner” (Professor Sandy Pepper, London School of Economics)

“Pointers on dealing with colleagues, workload and managing tasks is as much relevant to a junior doctor as to a banker or teacher” (Sam Singh, NHS)

“A sparkling, immediate and accelerated way to hack work. The Smarty Train in a book” (Riaz Shah, EY)

“Finally, a business book that talks to a new generation” (James Darley, Teach First)

“Every page is a scintillating adventure through work. Beautiful” (Beth Clutterbuck, Deliveroo)

“The sort of guidance that we all wish we’d had when we started out” (David Spencer, Police Now)

“Bite-sized hacks with a bumper-sized impact” (Julia Harvie-Liddel, BP)

“Fresh, distilled, need-to-know stuff” (Rustin Richburg, Walmart US People)
